About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced UI Lead to join our dynamic team at the Mumbai office. As a Senior UI Lead, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the visual and interactive aspects of our mobile games. Collaborating closely with game designers, UX designers, developers, and product managers, you will be responsible for translating gameplay concepts into intuitive, visually appealing, and player-friendly interfaces. Your expertise will ensure that our UI designs are not only aesthetically aligned with the game's art direction but also optimized for various mobile devices and resolutions. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead UI design initiatives, influence the overall user experience, and contribute to the creation of globally successful gaming titles.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in graphic or interaction design, with extensive experience in mobile game or app UI design. A minimum of 5 to 10 years of professional experience in the industry is required, with a proven track record of shipping at least five mobile applications or games. Proficiency in industry-standard design tools such as Figma, Adobe Photoshop, and Illustrator is essential. Familiarity with Unity UI or similar game engines, along with a solid understanding of mobile UI/UX principles, touch interaction, and asset optimization, is highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work within brand and art direction guidelines while pushing creative boundaries. A portfolio showcasing shipped mobile games or relevant UI design case studies is mandatory. A bachelor's degree in graphic arts, interaction design, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent industry experience.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with product managers and game designers to develop clean, user-centric, and trendy UI interfaces that enhance player engagement and usability.
- Conduct research by playing and analyzing hundreds of mobile games to stay updated with industry best practices and innovative design trends.
- Create detailed UI designs and graphics for menus, HUDs, pop-ups, shops, inventory systems, social features, events, and onboarding flows, ensuring consistency with the game's art style.
- Design and produce high-quality visual assets including icons, buttons, badges, UI frames, and typography treatments that align with the overall game aesthetic.
- Maintain and evolve the UI style guide and design system to ensure uniformity across all game screens and features.
- Optimize UI assets for various mobile resolutions, aspect ratios, and device performance constraints, ensuring smooth gameplay experiences.
- Prepare and export optimized assets such as sprites, atlases, 9-slice UI components, and animations in accordance with technical specifications.
- Work closely with engineers to ensure pixel-perfect implementation of UI elements within the Unity game engine.
- Make independent design decisions, resolve design challenges, and effectively present and sell concepts to stakeholders.
- Ensure UI clarity, hierarchy, accessibility, and readability across all user touchpoints, enhancing overall user experience.
