UX Design Intern | Questly

Questly is where people practice real-life decisions through interactive stories. From salary negotiations to tough conversations and ethical dilemmas, users learn by doing, not by reading.
We launched with 31 quests, 525+ stories, and 30 languages from day one. Built by a team with Cambridge roots and repeat founders, we are creating a new category at the intersection of gaming, learning, and human behavior.
The Role
This is not a shadow internship. You will design real features used by real users from day one.
You will work directly with founders and help shape a product that blends game design, UX, and storytelling.
What You Will Do
• Design key flows such as onboarding, gameplay, quests, and journaling
• Turn ideas into interactive prototypes
• Run user tests and turn feedback into better design
• Contribute to a clean and scalable design system
• Collaborate on product decisions, not just UI
• Design for a global audience across 30+ languages
• Work at the intersection of gaming and education
• Your work ships fast, not left in Figma files
• Direct access to founders with zero hierarchy
• Strong portfolio project with a unique UX problem space
• Real impact helping people build confidence and decision-making skills
What You Will Learn
• End-to-end product design in a fast-moving startup
• Game UX, storytelling, and product thinking
• How design translates into real code like React and Tailwind
• Real user research with live feedback
• How to design with speed and ambiguity
What We Are Looking For
• Background in Design, HCI, Psychology, or similar
• Strong UX thinking, process matters more than polish
• Comfortable with Figma
• Good visual sense and attention to detail
• Curiosity about how people think, learn, and decide
• Comfortable working in ambiguity
Bonus
• Experience with AI tools like Midjourney, Veo, or Claude
• Familiarity with design systems, motion, or basic frontend
