Job Description (JD)

Role: US Residential Mortgage Underwriter

Location: Bangalore

Experience: 4+ Years

CTC: Up to 14 LPA

Notice Period: Immediate to 45 Days

Key Responsibilities

• Independently underwrite US Residential Mortgage Loans with high accuracy
• Analyze borrower profiles, creditworthiness, income, and risk factors
• Work on Conventional, FHA VA loan products
• Utilize underwriting tools such as DU (Desktop Underwriter) LP (Loan Prospector)
• Perform re-underwriting and quality checks to ensure compliance
• Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders for loan approvals
• Lead and manage a small team (people management responsibility)
  
  

Required Skills Qualifications

• Minimum 48 months of underwriting experience in US mortgage domain
• At least 12 months of team handling / people management experience
• Strong expertise in DU LP underwriting systems
• Experience in Conventional, FHA VA loans (minimum 36 months)
• Working knowledge of Mortgage Loan Origination Systems (LOS)
• Strong analytical, mathematical statistical aptitude
• Excellent decision-making and risk assessment skills
• Bachelors Degree (India Ops) / High School Diploma (US Ops) preferred

• Familiarity with mortgage industry standards, compliance, and guidelines
• Ability to work with limited supervision and high ownership
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving capability
