Job Role & Purpose
As Head of Media & Event Sales, you will be responsible for driving top-line revenue across our print, digital, and event verticals. You will lead a pan-India sales team, own key client relationships at the highest level, and shape the commercial strategy for our growing portfolio. This is a senior P&L-facing role for someone who understands the jewellery industry, knows how to sell ideas — not just ad space — and thrives in a fast-moving, high-energy environment. India's most authoritative trade publication for the jewellery industry is looking for a sharp, driven sales leader to own the revenue engine across our media properties and marquee events."Read to Lead" — we build intelligence that drives the trade. Your job is to ensure India's finest jewellers and brands understand the value of that intelligence and invest in being part of it.
What You Will Own
- Revenue & Strategy: Own the annual sales target across media and events verticalsBuild and execute a commercial strategy aligned to editorial and event calendarsDevelop new revenue streams — sponsorships, branded content, digital packages, and awards partnershipsDrive on-the-spot and early-bird registrations at flagship events.
- Team & Client Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of Sales Managers across India and the Middle EastManage and grow relationships with senior decision-makers at jewellery brands, retailers, and suppliersRepresent The Retail Jeweller at client meetings, trade events, and industry forumsCollaborate closely with the editorial and events team to create compelling sales propositions.
What We Are Looking For
10–15 years of B2B media, publishing, or event sales experience; trade media experience is a strong advantageProven track record of closing large, complex, multi-touchpoint dealsDeep familiarity with the Indian jewellery trade ecosystem — brands, retailers, and trade shows (IIJS, GemGold, etc.)
Experience managing multi-city or multi-region sales teams with measurable outcomesExceptional communication skills — polished in boardrooms, persuasive in the fieldStrong instinct for building long-term client relationships, not just transactionsComfort working at pace — this role moves fast and rewards those who move fasterEntrepreneurial mindset: you see an opportunity before anyone else does.
