This position is primarily responsible for answering inquiries and providing information to the patients and other interested parties regarding activities conducted at establishment and location of departments, offices, and employees within the organization by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Analyzes data to determine answers to questions from customers or members of the public.
- Calculates and quotes rates for insurance policies, or other products or services.
- Collects, sorts, distributes, or prepares mail, messages, or courier deliveries.
- Enrolls individuals to participate in programs and notifies them of their acceptance.
- Files and maintains records.
- Greets persons entering establishment, determines nature and purpose of visit, and directs or escorts them to specific destinations.
- Hears and resolves complaints from patients.
- Keeps a current record of staff members' whereabouts and availability.
- Operates telephone switchboard to answer, screen, or forward calls, providing information, taking messages, or scheduling appointments.
- Performs administrative support tasks, such as proofreading, transcribing handwritten information, or operating calculators or computers to work with pay records, invoices, balance sheets, or other documents.
- Performs duties, such as taking care of plants or straightening magazines to maintain lobby or reception area.
- Processes and prepares memos, correspondence, travel vouchers, or other documents.
- Provides information about establishment, such as location of departments or offices, employees within the organization, or services provided.
- Receives payment and records receipts for services.
- Schedules appointments and maintains and updates appointment calendars.
- Directs telephone calls.
- Scans documents into the DOC center.
- Prints out next day health histories and new patient information.
- Posts insurance / personal payments.
- Updates patient charts.
- Calls-in prescriptions for patients.
- Collects patient billing for day of treatment and also any prior and/or past due balances.
- Discusses financial arrangements with patients and answers any billing questions.
- Checks e-mail regarding new patients transfer of x-rays.
- Ensures that the patient lounge and the restrooms are clean.
ATTENDANCE:
Must be punctual and timely in meeting all requirements of performance, including, but not limited to, attendance standards and work deadlines; beginning and ending assignments on time; and scheduled work breaks; where applicable.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquires or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of: Internet software;; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software. Experience with Curve a plus.
