Role:  Platform Engineer

As a Platform Monitoring and Scaling Specialist at Upswing, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and scalability of our platform. You will be responsible for monitoring platform performance, setting up alerts for service disruptions, and optimising conversion funnels to enhance the overall user experience. This role demands a unique blend of technical expertise and a deep understanding of the product.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Platform Monitoring: Continuously monitor the performance and availability of our platform's services, identifying and addressing any issues promptly.
2. Alert Configuration: Set up and maintain alerts and notifications for service disruptions, ensuring rapid response to minimise downtime.
3. Conversion Funnel Optimization: Collaborate with the product team to analyse user funnels, identify bottlenecks, and implement improvements to enhance conversion rates.
4. Scaling Strategy: Work closely with the engineering team to plan and execute scaling strategies, ensuring the platform can handle increased traffic and usage without breaking.
5. Technical Expertise: Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry best practices to recommend and implement improvements in our technology stack.
6. Product Understanding: Develop a deep understanding of our product and user behaviour to align technical decisions with product goals effectively.
7. Collaboration: Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product management, and operations teams to drive platform stability and growth.
8. Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of monitoring and scaling procedures for knowledge sharing and future reference.

Role Requirements:

1. Proficiency in object oriented programming language like Java / Kotlin
2. Good analytical and debugging skills, ability to understand distributed systems and heterogeneous data to identify/highlight potential bottlenecks or inconsistencies.
3. Understanding of Relational Databases and SQL
4. Familiarity with linux commands, scripting, server monitoring
5. Experience with version control systems like Git
6. Excellent communication skills and ability to learn new technologies / tool
7. Resourcefulness, Analytical mindset and troubleshooting aptitude

Good to have:

1. Experience with system monitoring tools like Grafana, AWS monitoring tools like Cloudwatch, Graylog
2. Experience with analytics tool like Amplitude, Mixpanel, GA
3. Experience with Kubernetes
