Equipment Mastery: Safely and effectively operate commercial kitchen equipment such as industrial mixers, food processors, and convection ovens.
Team Support: Work closely with the Chef and Kitchen Manager to stay ahead of par levels and prepare for high-traffic shifts and special events.
Qualifications
Experience: Previous prep experience in a high-volume, professional kitchen preferred.
Technical Skill: Strong knife skills and the ability to follow complex recipes accurately.
Math Skills: Ability to scale recipes up or down based on production needs.
Physical Stamina: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (cases of produce/proteins) and remain on your feet for the duration of a shift.
Mindset: A 'team-first' attitude with a focus on cleanliness and professional culinary standards.
Why Upstream?
Consistent Hours: Prep shifts typically offer a more predictable daytime schedule.
Culinary Growth: Be a foundational part of a team that is actively updating systems and expanding into new catering ventures.
Professional Environment: Join a kitchen culture where the BOH has each other's backs.
