Job title: Care Partner
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Department: Fletcher House ALF
Reports to: Administrator
Position summary:
To assist nursing staff. Work cooperatively and respectfully with resident, coworkers, families, visitors, and volunteers.
Position responsibilities:
- Answer resident call lights promptly and courteously.
- Operate washer, dryer, and other laundry equipment.
- Assist in folding, stacking, hanging, and distributing linen to the correct location.
- Sweep, dust, and mop as needed.
- Empty and change liners in all waste cans daily and when needed.
- Clean and wash all basins and commodes as needed.
- Clean resident rooms daily
- Protect the personal belongings with each resident, including eyeglasses, dentures, hearing aids, jewelry, clothing, and memorabilia.
- Perform all job responsibilities with safety and infection control procedures including thorough handwashing, use of disposable gloves, and proper disposal of soiled materials.
- Be accountable.
Essential skill and experience:
Time management, proficient reading and writing, and intrapersonal relations, good communication skills, computer proficiency.
Nonessential skill and experience:
- Adhere to all Uplands policies.
- Provide individualized attention, which encourages each resident’s ability to maintain or attain the highest practical psychosocial well-being.
- Walk extensively to and from rooms as assigned.
- Communicate and interact effectively and tactfully with the residents, visitors, families, coworkers, and supervisors.
- Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary laundry area.
- Assist in maintain a clean, safe, and neat environment.
- Maintain the comfort, dignity, and privacy of each resident in the delivery of services to them. Interact with residents in a manner that displays warmth and promotes a caring environment.
- Be reliable and prompt for work on days scheduled.
