Role Description The Upcycle Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Satna, focused on transforming collected waste and scrap into valuable upcycled products. This role involves overseeing the entire upcycling process, including identifying suitable materials, coordinating with operations and collection teams, and working with local partners or artisans to develop marketable products. The Upcycle Manager will manage inventory of reusable materials, track production timelines, and ensure quality standards and safety practices are maintained. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning new upcycling initiatives, optimizing processes for efficiency, documenting workflows, and supporting awareness activities that promote upcycling among customers and communities. The role also requires collaboration with management to align upcycling projects with business goals and environmental impact targets.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated understanding of recycling, upcycling, or waste management processes, with a strong interest in sustainability and circular economy practices.
- Experience in operations, production supervision, or project coordination, ideally in manufacturing, handicrafts, or environmental services.
- Ability to plan and organize activities, manage timelines, and coordinate with multiple stakeholders, including internal teams and external partners.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to assess material usability and design practical upcycling solutions.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage with collection teams, artisans, vendors, and community members.
- Basic data management and reporting skills to track material flows, production volumes, and project performance.
- Comfort working on-site in Satna, including occasional field visits, warehouse work, or interaction with sorting and collection operations.
- Relevant education in environmental science, industrial design, engineering, business, or a related field is preferred, but practical experience in upcycling or related work is highly valued.
