Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced and accomplished Senior UAV Instructor / Chief Drone Training Instructor to lead the design, development, and delivery of advanced training programs for drone pilots, operators, defence personnel, and technical staff. This role requires deep expertise in UAV flight operations, aviation instruction, mission planning, regulatory compliance, and safety management.
The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with fixed-wing, multirotor, hybrid VTOL, FPV, ISR, and loitering munition platforms, and a proven track record of training personnel from the Armed Forces, Paramilitary, Government Agencies, and Commercial Organizations.
The position combines classroom teaching, simulator instruction, live flight training, curriculum development, trainee assessment, operational oversight, and mentoring of junior instructors.

Key Responsibilities
1. Training Delivery
- Conduct comprehensive theoretical and practical training on:
- Fixed-Wing UAVs
- Multirotor UAVs
- Hybrid VTOL Platforms
- FPV Drones
- ISR UAV Systems
- Loitering Munitions
- Deliver simulator-based and live flight instruction.
- Train on:
- Pre-flight and post-flight procedures
- Mission planning and KML route generation
- Navigation and telemetry systems
- Ground Control Station (GCS) operations
- Payload integration and sensor operations
- Emergency and contingency procedures
- Electronic Warfare (EW) and GPS-denied operations
- BVLOS and swarm operations
- Evaluate trainee performance through written tests, practical checks, and final flight assessments.
- Conduct recurrent training and certification programs.
2. Curriculum Development
- Design and update:
- Training manuals
- Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Presentations and technical documentation
- Question banks and assessment criteria
- Incorporate current industry regulations, technological advancements, and operational lessons learned.
- Customize programs for:
- Defence and Homeland Security
- Industrial Inspection
- Agriculture
- Mapping and Survey
- Surveillance and Reconnaissance
3. Operational Oversight
- Supervise field training, test flights, and operational demonstrations.
- Ensure strict adherence to operational procedures and risk controls.
- Support customer acceptance trials and capability demonstrations.
- Investigate incidents and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Conduct post-mission debriefings and performance analysis.
4. Compliance and Safety
- Ensure compliance with:
- Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) regulations
- Type Certification requirements
- Quality and airworthiness standards
- Defence standards such as JSS 55555 and MIL-STD
- Implement and monitor Safety Management Systems (SMS).
- Conduct safety briefings, internal audits, and regulatory inspections.
- Maintain training records, certifications, and documentation.
5. Leadership and Mentoring
- Lead and mentor junior instructors, pilots, and technical staff.
- Establish instructor qualification and standardization programs.
- Support strategic planning and expansion of training operations.
- Coordinate with customers, regulatory authorities, and internal stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Aviation, Aerospace Engineering, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Certified UAV Pilot Instructor / RPAS Instructor or equivalent aviation instructional credentials.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in aviation, defence, aerospace, or UAV operations.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Fixed-Wing, Multirotor, and Hybrid VTOL UAV systems
- Autopilot software such as Mission Planner, QGroundControl, PX4, and ArduPilot
- Mission planning, telemetry, and data links
- Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Former military aviation instructor, UAV squadron instructor, or commercial flight instructor.
- Experience with:
- BVLOS (Beyond Visual Line of Sight) operations
- Loitering munitions and ISR platforms
- Electronic Warfare and GPS-denied environments
- Payload integration and targeting systems
- UAV maintenance and troubleshooting
- GIS, photogrammetry, LiDAR, and thermal mapping
- Experience training Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, Police, and Special Forces.
