Minimum Requirements:

Sixteen (16) years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Position Description:

The Temporary Executive Director is a part time position that is responsible for oversight, administration  and management of finance related to academic and research functions which includes comprehensive financial activity, budget planning, reporting, comparison and analysis, forecasting, grants, contracts, clinical practice revenue, regulatory compliance to support and sustain the department’ financial performance while working to identify opportunities to increase support and services to meet strategic initiatives within the Department of Medicine.  Assist the VP with departmental financial leadership and serve as liaison with the practice plan executives. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the comprehensive finances for entire department.

  • Develop, map, define analytical projects for reporting execution of budget VS actuals.

  • Assist in development of recruitment plans, work assignments, and strategic initiatives.

  • Direct and monitor extramural program administration.

  • Oversee and administer all departmental financial staff.

  • Oversee and administer Clinical and Faculty Affairs areas.

  • Directly and indirectly supervise all administrative staff.

  • Responsible for preparation, coordination and accountability for departmental financial business activity.

  • Provide executive oversight and recommendations for partnership/joint venture.

  • Partner with ambulatory CEO & COO and Hospital CEO on strategic initiatives associated with the clinical enterprise.

  • Facilitate Clinical Operations and Strategy Committee meetings.

  • Collaborate on revenue cycle performance improvement strategies.

  • Develop third party physician service agreements and oversee contractual receivables.

  • Proven capability to take initiative and problem solve. 

  • Excellent communication skills, along with a strong organizational skills and a strong work ethic. 

  • Flexible, emotionally intelligent team builder with strong critical thinking skills, self awareness and the ability to exercise discretion and due diligence. 

  • Willingness and ability to provide quality presentations to a varying audience and the desire to provide nimble and proactive customer service are also essential.

Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
