About the role

Interviews are expected to be held 13 August 2025 This role will be based on the university campus, with scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner. We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements. As Research Systems Adviser (Training and Engagement), you will provide operational leadership and management of stakeholder training and engagement activities, within the Ensuring Data Compliance, Insights and Sharing (EDCIS) project. The EDCIS project focuses on enhancing the University's current research information system (Symplectic Elements) and replacing the existing research data repositories. Based in the University Libraries, you will work closely with the Research and Innovation Service (RIS), working a minimum of two days a week at the University of Leeds campus. You will play a key role in supporting the delivery of the EDCIS project - an institutional digital transformation project, that forms part of the wider institutional Digital Transformation Programme. The EDCIS project is a cornerstone project to support the University in meeting the objectives set out in the Universal Values, Global Changes, University of Leeds Strategy 2020 to 2030. It supports the implementation of the Digital Futures and Open Higher Education strands of the Libraries' vision, Knowledge for All, and supports the aims of the Research Culture Strategy, and delivery of the University's Research Excellence Framework 2029 (REF2029) submission. Under the direction of the Project Delivery Lead, you will collaborate with subject matter experts, suppliers, and technical teams to plan and deliver comprehensive stakeholder engagement and training activities, supporting the effective adoption and implementation of the EDCIS project. Key stakeholders will include academics and researchers, research support staff, and communications staff. The stakeholder training and engagement will support the following EDCIS activities: Implementation of the REF2029 submission management module in Symplectic Procurement and implementation of a new Research Data Repository Streamlining and refreshment of professional activities data in Symplectic Enhancement of equipment data management in Symplectic Scoping and implementation of a research and innovation expertise database Your work will align with teams supporting day-to-day engagement around REF2029, Symplectic, open research and research data.
