About the role

We are looking for a highly motivated Research Associate/Research Assistant to join the School of Computer Science at the University of Bristol, working on an exciting project on on-sensor computer vision. The post is available for 24 months in the first instance with the potential for extension. The successful candidate will work on developing novel algorithms and architectures for on-sensor computer vision, with a focus on applications in robotics, autonomous vehicles, and surveillance. This will involve developing novel deep learning models that can be efficiently implemented on sensor-edge hardware, and evaluating their performance on real-world datasets and prototypes. The ideal candidate will have a PhD (or be near completion) in a relevant field such as computer vision, machine learning, or robotics, with a strong background in deep learning, computer vision, and/or embedded systems. Experience with sensor hardware, FPGA/ASIC development, and/or real-time systems would be an advantage.
