INSTRUCTIONAL LABORATORY COORDINATOR

With general supervision, provides technical and administrative support for teaching selected course laboratories; prepares instructional materials for weekly laboratory sessions; teaches selected laboratories; submits student lab grades to course instructor and coordinates part-time teaching assistants for selected laboratories. Maintains knowledge of updated instructional materials used in specific course laboratories.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
· Develop lesson plans and instruct students in current biotechnology laboratory techniques.
· Includes preparing and delivering academic and hands-on instruction reflecting current practices in the field.
· Lead and conduct laboratory experiments and presentations.
· Teaching proper bacterial culture preparation and analysis
· Instructing cloning techniques.
· Supervising plasmid and genomic DNA isolation.
· Guiding protein isolation procedures.
· This position prepares laboratory sessions for approximately 72 students, including stocking and ordering supplies, preparing cultures, and ensuring overall laboratory readiness.
· Assist with evaluation and assessment of student performance.
· Under the supervision of program directors, assist in grading laboratory practicals, quizzes, and student notebooks.
· Provide guidance during laboratory sessions and support students engaged in research activities.
· Assist students during laboratory experiments and exercises.
· Maintain laboratory instructional areas and equipment.
· Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and laboratory standard operating procedures.
Salary Range: $43,890 - $57,055
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field and one (1) year of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
