About the role

The Institute for Infection Prevention and Control (IPC, Head Prof. Dr. Philipp Henneke) is looking as soon as possible for a Bioinformatician (m/f/d, PhD) with focus on the analysis of large genomic, gene expression and gene regulatory network data sets. We are looking for a highly motivated scientist to work in a dynamic and interdisciplinary academic team focusing on different aspects of infection, immunology, and adaptation of immunity across life. We aim to recruit a bioinformatician to complement our expertise and to develop an individual research focus within our research team. We offer: a state of the art workplace located at the heart of the medical campus in close proximity to clinics and other research institutes a diverse and international team eager to approach diverse questions on immune development, infection dynamics and immunity to infections an internationally highly recognized and visible research environment independence to develop your own research focus as a basis for an academic career highly innovative projects from internationally recognized partners to interlink with from early-on work within a national consortium focusing on the development of immunity in pre- and perinatal life (TRR359) involvement in teaching across different life science study programs at the faculty of Medicine Perspective: Junior Group Leaders Your profile at the IPC: analyses of high throughput genomic, transcriptomic, epigenetic, proteomic, digital spatial, and other 'omics data in healthy and disease states close interaction with the bioinformatics and immunology teams of Katrin Kierdorf, Julia Kolter, Tjibbe Donker and Philipp Henneke analysis of multiscale single cell 'omics data in in experimental and human models reference genome and transcriptome assembly and annotation across species perform rigorous and reproducible data analyses along with graphics and spreadsheet output development and implementation of custom analysis pipelines in collaboration with wet lab scientists develop your own projects and work independently on a variety of data analysis projects increasing development of own projects and acquisition of third-party funds in the course of time
