Conditions of Employment
|
This is a part-time, temporary, non-benefited, student position. Employment in all positions with University Enterprises, Inc. is dependent upon the mutual consent of University Enterprises, Inc. and the employee. This means that either University Enterprises, Inc. or the employee can, at any time, terminate the employment relationship at will, with or without cause.
UEI does not allow employees to hold more than one UEI Job at a time, or work in more than one college or center per pay period. UEI employees who are considering leaving their current UEI position for a different UEI position should inform their supervisor in writing and provide at least a week’s notice.
Depending on the type of position you are applying for, a pre-employment background check consisting of one or more of the following may be conducted: employment history, professional references, criminal check: educational verification (i.e., degree, license, or official transcript), DMV clearance. Applicants will be required to pass required pre-employment checks to the satisfaction of University Enterprises, Inc. (UEI) and the hiring Agency or Department.

Prerequisites
|
Must be a Sac State student enrolled in at least six-semester units (undergrad) or four-semester units (graduate) students.
|

Majors/Fields of Study
|
Graduate student completing a Career Counseling degree (or similar degree).
|
|
Work Schedule
|
Flexible workdays and work hours, Monday – Friday, between 8 AM – 5 PM. Final work schedule to be determined by supervisor.
Work will begin on 06/02/2026 and end on or before 08/21/2026.

Additional Work Schedule
|
Student Assistant and Graduate Assistant employees generally work up to 20 hours per workweek (Sunday – Saturday) during the academic year and up to 40 hours per workweek during breaks; (winter, spring & summer).
|
|
Compensation
|
$17.50 per hour
|
|
Minimum Qualifications
|
- Must be a continuing Sac State graduate student or an undergraduate with junior or senior status. Must be in good academic standing.
- Must have at least one year of experience working in an office or a programming environment.
- Must have excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Experience working with a diverse background of students as well as an interest in working with first-generation college students.
- Must have basic knowledge of academic and personal counseling and advising.
- Must have general knowledge of office procedures and experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, and Excel) web applications and Adobe Acrobat.
- General knowledge of office procedures and campus resources.
- Ability to articulate and disseminate detailed
information.

Preferred Qualifications
|
- Previous experience in advising or mentoring roles.
- Experience with event planning or organizing.
- Knowledge and awareness of, and sensitivity to Asian American and Pacific Islander culture and history.
- Demonstrated experience (paid or volunteer) in the student services/support field.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Knowledge of University Public Affairs and Marketing policies and procedures.
- Experience participating in student-led clubs and organizations.
- Some experience in photography and graphic design.

Duties and Responsibilities
|
- Serve as Secretary of the Bridge Steering Committee.
- Support AANIPSI CO-OP Transfer Bridge Recruitment.
- Assist in the Bridge admission function; help manage incoming applications.
- Assist with planning and coordinating activities such as the Summer Bridge Staff Training, Student.
- Orientation, the Crossing, and various community-building activities.
- Actively participate in all training and weekly staff meetings.
- Act as a liaison with other campus departments/programs.
- Clerical support.
- Develop and maintain a program data filing system.
- Assist with program files and input as appropriate.
- Assist in the development and editing of documents and web content.
- Conduct supplies inventory.
- Develop marketing materials.
- Contact with Students Assist in the recruitment of participants through letters, phone calls, emails, and presentations.
- Market and facilitate student focus groups to provide data for program assessment.
- Serve as a role model and provide referrals to Bridge students as needed.
- Facilitate or assist in planning large group activities.

Physical Requirements
|
Sit for extended periods; frequently stand and walk; manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination; corrected hearing and vision to normal range; verbal communication; use of office equipment including computer workstations, telephones, calculators, copiers, printers, and scanners with or without reasonable accommodation.

|
Work is performed in an office environment.
