About the role

THIS POSITION IS FOR EVENINGS AND WEEKENDS

The Assistant Store Manager for Universal Wine and Spirits provides friendly, knowledgeable service to customers and assists them with purchasing beer, wine, spirits, and related merchandise while ensuring compliance with all state and local alcohol regulations.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Greets customers warmly and provides attentive, courteous service.
Checks identification to verify customers meet legal age requirements for alcohol purchases.
Listens to customer preferences and makes recommendations for products such as wine, liquor, mixers, and gifts.
Educates customers on product features, pricing, and promotions.
Retrieves and stocks merchandise from the sales floor or storage areas.
Maintains a clean, organized, and visually appealing store environment.
Operates the point-of-sale (POS) system to process sales, returns, and exchanges accurately.
Handles cash, credit, and debit transactions responsibly.
Assists with inventory counts, restocking shelves, and setting up displays.
Adheres to all company policies and alcohol-handling laws.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous retail experience preferred.
On-the-job training provided.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of standing and walking throughout the retail space.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
