A lab assistant is responsible for assisting the Instructors.

Responsibilities
- Assist the instructors in the shop environment only
- Provide technical knowledge to students in completing shop projects
- Aid the student in accomplishing hands on type projects to gain required motor skills
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Training
Qualifications
Education
Experience
- Prior experience in related field preferred
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to assist students of various ages and diverse backgrounds
- Able to work productively and communicate effectively with students and new
- employees
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Must be able to deal responsibly with confidential information
- Must be personable, energetic and have a customer service orientation
- Must be a self-motivator
- Must be able to work alone or with a team
Performance Standards
- Proper monitoring of all equipment, supplies and tools to ensure the safety of the students
- Two reviews will be done per course
- Bi-Annual review will be done by Director of Education
Working Conditions
- Majority of time spent in education environment
- Work will consist of an 8-hour day
- Appropriate safety measures must be followed
- Exposure to chemicals that are standard to industry
