A&R Operations Coordinator – 12 Month Contract 

 

The UMC team works four days a week from our award-winning creative campus located in Liberty Village, Toronto, and one day to work virtually.  

 

Reporting to the Manager, A&R Administration, the A&R Operations Coordinator will join the A&R department and support the operations of the A&R team. The ideal candidate possesses experience preferably within the music industry. 

 

How You’ll LEAD:  

  • Provide ongoing support to the team by executing A&R operational processes and enforcing departmental best practices 
  • Support A&Rs with completion of asset deliverables including all audio from producers, mixers and mastering engineers 
  • Organization and maintenance of UMC’s internal asset file management systems 
  • Work closely with A&Rs to gather and verify metadata and label copy, ensuring accuracy for physical and digital releases 
  • Responsible for QC-ing all audio as well as uploading final audio to the UMG supply chain for distribution 
  • Coordinate internal scheduling processes, transitioning releases from A&R to Universal Music Canada's production grid ensuring timelines are met 
  • Liaise with all internal departments, including Marketing, Creative, Digital, and Operations on status of deliverables 
  • Coordinate payments and vendor setup to suppliers as assigned  
  • Collaborate on inputting metadata into UMC’s repertoire management system as required 
  • Assist with various special projects 

  

  What You BRING:  

  • 1-3 years of experience in the music entertainment industry  
  • Ability to successfully multi-task, prioritize and work under pressure & meet deadlines in a fast-paced, high volume environment 
  • Demonstrates ability to work independently, take initiative, and to identify potential issues and successfully problem solve with business deliverables in mind 
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in music, media and/or entertainment  
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail 
  • Knowledge of today’s music scene, trends and a strong understanding of the recording process  
  • Experience with audio editing software
