We seek a candidate with a solid knowledge of the Unity game engine, looking to develop game features under guidance, primarily focusing on implementing design concepts into playable prototypes using C# scripting, while collaborating with more senior developers to learn best practices and build game functionality within a team environment.
Key responsibilities might include:
- Game object manipulation: Creating, positioning, and manipulating game objects within the Unity editor.
- C# scripting fundamentals: Writing simple C# scripts to implement game/application mechanics like movement, interactions, and animations.
- ·Asset integration: Importing and utilizing pre-made 3D models, textures, and sound effects into the Unity scene.
- Prototyping: Building playable prototypes based on design specifications.
- Collaboration: Working closely with designers and developers to understand project goals and implement features accordingly.
- Debugging: Identifying and fixing basic errors in Unity and C# code.
- Learning and development: Actively seeking to expand knowledge of Unity features and best practices through training and mentorship.
Required skills:
- Good understanding of Unity interface and workflow: Navigating the Unity editor, using the hierarchy, scene view, and inspector.
- Strong C# programming concepts: Variables, data types, loops, conditional statements, functions.
- Problem-solving skills: Ability to troubleshoot basic coding issues and identify potential problems in game logic.
- Passion for games: Enthusiasm for game development and a desire to learn new technologies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in mobile game development (Android/iOS).
- Knowledge of multiplayer game development and networking concepts.
- Exposure to AR/VR development using Unity.
- Understanding of Firebase, PlayFab, Photon, or similar backend services.
- Experience with publishing applications on Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
