About the role

The Senior Analyst, Clinical Documentation Improvement works collaboratively with physicians, clinical staff, and revenue cycle team members to ensure complete and accurate clinical documentation. This role is responsible for promoting appropriate documentation practices and driving process improvements to enhance compliant billing, coding, and reporting. Essential job functions include: - Proactively review patient medical records to identify documentation gaps and opportunities for improvement - Provide focused education and coaching to physicians and clinical staff on documentation best practices - Analyze data and trends to develop customized training and interventions - Serve as a subject matter expert and resource on coding, billing, and regulatory requirements - Participate in interdisciplinary teams to implement and monitor documentation initiatives - Collaborate with quality and compliance teams to ensure appropriate documentation - Use critical thinking and analytical skills to resolve complex documentation issues Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field (e.g., nursing, health information management, etc.) - 3+ years of clinical documentation improvement experience in a healthcare setting - Thorough understanding of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, and ICD-10 coding - Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with physicians and clinical staff - Proficient in data analysis and interpretation to drive process improvements - Strong organizational and problem-solving skills - Ability to work independently and as part of a team
