UNDP India's Country Programme (2023–2027) focuses on: Strengthening evidence-led institutions to achieve the SDGs Enhancing economic opportunities and social protection for marginalized groups Promoting climate-smart solutions and sustainable development Project Background: The Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) and Kisan Credit Card/Modified Interest Subvention Scheme (KCC/MISS) are flagship schemes aimed at protecting farmers from financial risks and enhancing resilience. UNDP supports the implementation of these schemes through the Central PMU (CPMU), strengthening systems, processes, and technical capacities for nationwide implementation. Position Details: Title: Project Officers Reference: PO-SIG Type: Full-time consultancy (on SAMS payroll) Duration: 12 months (renewable based on performance) Reporting to: State Mentors, CPMU, SIG, and National Program Director, CPMU, UNDP Location: Kerala, Karnataka, Haryana Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement state-level communication strategies, advocacy initiatives, research, and capacity-building programs. Coordinate with state agriculture departments, banks, insurance companies, and other stakeholders. Ensure timely and effective grievance redressal and smooth project management. Analyze data to generate management reports and support data-driven decision-making. Prepare quarterly/annual progress reports, impact assessments, case studies, and success stories. Organize training workshops, webinars, and knowledge-sharing events for stakeholders. Regularly monitor and validate data provided by state agencies to ensure compliance with scheme guidelines. Support additional tasks assigned by CPMU or reporting officers. Qualifications & Experience: Education: Master's in Agriculture Science, Business Management, Economics, Commerce, Banking/Insurance, IT/Technology, or Statistics with 4–5 years of relevant experience, OR Bachelor's degree with 6–8 years of experience in the above fields. Experience: 5–6 years of experience managing and implementing state/national projects. Experience with Govt. projects, crop insurance, or agriculture/farming sectors preferred. Skills: Strong IT/computing skills (MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience designing awareness/training programs for farmers. Excellent stakeholder engagement and partnership-building skills. Knowledge of agriculture insurance, credit schemes, and government processes. Willingness to travel extensively. Good command of Hindi, English, and regional language(s). Consultancy Fee: Monthly fee will be as per Government norms and commensurate with experience. Subject to applicable taxes.
