Job overview and responsibilities
Design, revise and manage technical manuals, company manuals or maintenance program task cards used to accomplish scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repair of United aircraft. Establishes and maintains strong business relationships with various Tech Ops customers including, but not limited to, Aircraft Maintenance, Engineering and other external customers including Boeing and Airbus to facilitate documentation updates to support an evolving operation. Manages workload in accordance with documented policies, procedures and business requirements, maintaining the highest level of compliance and safety. Supports other technical writers.
- Create, revise and maintain technical manuals, company manuals, or task cards
- Provide support to the airline operation, fielding inquiries from maintenance and other operational
- Divisions as well as technical writers
- Engage with OEM and vendor customers at industry level events to promote United's participation with the transformation of digital documentation
- Conduct peer to peer reviews and routine audits to ensure compliance to company and regulatory standards
NOTE: This position is based at the CSC-Willis Tower in Chicago, IL and considered as a hybrid-work schedule, in-office 3 days a week, however that may evolve with the needs of the company.
What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree or 4 years of relevant work experience
- Technical Writing, Communications, Aviation Management, Engineering
- 3-5 years of related experience
- S1000D, iSpec2000, XML Authoring
- Aviation, military or equivalent industry experience
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
- Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
- Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
