Job Title: Unisys COBOL Programmer
Job Description:
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Unisys COBOL Programmer with 2–3 years of hands-on experience in development, maintenance, and support of Unisys mainframe applications. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of COBOL programming, debugging, and batch processing within Unisys environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and support applications on Unisys mainframe systems.
- Analyze business and technical requirements for application enhancements and bug fixes.
- Write, modify, test, and debug COBOL programs.
- Work on batch job processing, file handling, and production support activities.
- Troubleshoot application issues and provide timely resolutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including business analysts, QA, and support teams.
- Prepare technical documentation for development and maintenance activities.
- Participate in code reviews and follow development standards and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Skills Required:
- 2–3 years of experience in Unisys Mainframe application development.
- Strong knowledge of COBOL programming.
- Experience working in Unisys environments such as MCP or OS 2200.
- Understanding of JCL, batch processing, and file management.
- Good debugging and analytical skills.
- Familiarity with databases and transaction processing systems is an added advantage.
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment.
