As a key technical leader, you will be responsible for architecting scalable, efficient software systems that integrate with our state-of-the-art AI models and solutions. You will collaborate with engineering, product, and AI teams to push the boundaries of what is possible with AI-powered customer service technologies. **Key Responsibilities** * Lead the design and development of large-scale, highly available, and performant software systems that power Uniphore’s AI-driven products. * Collaborate closely with AI/ML teams to integrate advanced machine learning models into production environments, ensuring real-time performance and scalability. * Drive architectural decisions and provide technical guidance on key engineering projects, ensuring alignment with business and product goals. * Act as a mentor and technical leader, providing support and direction to junior engineers and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. * Work closely with product management and cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into innovative software solutions. * Develop and optimize APIs, microservices, and backend systems to support seamless integration and operation of AI models and applications. * Ensure code quality and system performance by establishing and enforcing best practices in software engineering, including code reviews, testing, and documentation. * Design and implement CI/CD pipelines and automation workflows to support rapid iteration and deployment of AI-driven applications. * Troubleshoot complex technical challenges in production systems, identifying root causes and implementing robust solutions. * Stay updated on the latest advancements in AI, cloud computing, and software engineering, and apply this knowledge to improve Uniphore’s products and processes. **Required Qualifications** * Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. * 8+ years of experience in software development, with a strong focus on designing and deploying large-scale systems. * Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C++, Go) with a focus on backend development. * Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and scalable microservices architectures. * Hands-on experience in integrating machine learning models into production environments. * Deep understanding of modern software architecture patterns, including microservices, serverless, and event-driven architectures. * Strong experience with API design, distributed systems, and backend services that support AI and machine learning applications. * Expertise in databases (SQL, NoSQL) and data pipeline technologies. * Proven experience leading technical teams, providing mentorship, and driving successful delivery of complex projects. * Solid understanding of DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud automation. * Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues. * Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a track record of working across technical and non-technical teams. **Preferred Qualifications** * Experience working on AI-driven systems, such as conversational AI, speech recognition, or NLP platforms. * Familiarity with AI/ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc.) and deploying machine learning models in production. * Hands-on experience with big data processing technologies (Kafka, Spark, etc.) and real-time analytics. * Knowledge of compliance and security best practices in cloud-based AI applications. * Experience in working in a high-growth, startup-like environment. **Location preference:** India - Chennai Uniphore is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity in the workplace.
