About the role
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Solr/Search Architect to join our team and lead the development of our next-generation search and discovery platform. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable and high-performance search solutions using Apache Solr.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the architecture and design of Solr-based search solutions, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and reliability
- Develop and implement advanced search features, such as faceted search, spell-checking, autocomplete, and relevance ranking algorithms
- Optimize Solr configurations, indexes, and schemas to meet the specific requirements of our eCommerce and content management applications
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Frontend, Backend, Data) to integrate Solr seamlessly into our product ecosystem
- Mentor and guide junior team members, sharing your expertise and best practices
- Stay up-to-date with the latest Solr and search technology trends, and continuously improve our search capabilities
Requirements:
- 8+ years of experience in designing and implementing Solr-based search solutions
- Deep understanding of Solr architecture, indexing, querying, and optimization techniques
- Proficiency in Java, Python, or other backend programming languages
- Experience with distributed systems, caching, and high-availability architectures
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve complex issues
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Familiarity with eCommerce, content management, or other data-intensive applications is a plus
