Job Summary
The Associate, Underwriting Services serves MIS clients by executing routine, simple processing tasks related to underwriting. Communicating with clients via email, this role serves as a lead processor for a small number of low complexity client accounts, escalating any mid-to high-level complexity issues to supervisor, as they build their knowledge of underwriting.
Principal Responsibilities
Processing Underwriting Support Tasks
- Working under the director of supervisor, processes tasks related to underwriting and policy processing functions.
- Follows established processes and procedures to complete routine tasks related to policies, binders, endorsements, cancellations, reinstatements, and final audit transactions.
- Exercise problem solving skills to resolve problems with low complexity. Escalate mid-to-high level complexity to supervisor.
Client Service and Communication
- Receives and handles client requests via inbound email. Serves as a lead for client accounts that are smaller and/or low in complexity.
- Respond promptly to client needs, maintaining a high level of professionalism and ensuring a positive client experience.
- Answers questions professionally and assists clients by completing a task or process for them
Teamwork and Collaboration
- Collaborates with co-workers and supervisors to meet client needs and contribute to achievement of internal team goals.
- Looks for opportunities to improve processes to better support client and build knowledge and expertise in underwriting.
Minimum Qualifications
- Degree - Bachelors
- Working Experience - 1 to 2 years’ experience in Underwriting

- Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to convey information to clients and effectively deescalate customer frustrations
- Process-focused and detail oriented, committed to accurate documentation
- Technologically proficient - able to learn, utilize, and navigate a variety of external and internal systems
