About the role

Role:The Assistant Vice President of Information Technology (AVP of IT) is responsible for providing strategic and technical insight for the IT department under the guidance of the SVP of Technology. This position will also contribute to the budgeting and planning of systems as well as maintenance and support. The AVP of IT will work collaboratively with other business units and third-party vendors. The position oversees technology governance for decisions and solution development, develops processes and procedures, and provides guidance and leadership for the technology service area. The AVP of IT will also work closely with functional areas on organizational projects and initiatives. In addition to operational management, this role will involve senior IT leadership and internal business stakeholders to understand business and member needs and assess, propose, and implement technical solutions that align with and facilitate these needs.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

10%The AVP of ITS provides direct input in developing strategic objectives and operational outcomes of technology services and is accountable for the implementation of standard processes and procedures for technology service components within the organization.

10%Manages and ensures compliance and system SLAs are meeting performance levels.

10%Participates in system analysis, design, and planning activities to determine equipment requirements. Make recommendations on hardware and software, and formalizes installation/implementation procedures.

10%Communicates with stakeholders regarding system status, service updates, planned outages, unplanned disruptions, and service delivery issues.

10%Leverage project management skills and tools to manage and monitor technology projects to ensure compliance with defined policies and technical standards.

10%Lead the preparations for disaster recovery planning for consistent business operations.

10%Manage the design, documentation, implementation, and daily operations of a reliable, secure, optimized, efficient, and scalable infrastructure that supports the delivery of exceptional member and employee experiences.

10%Execute security management tasks including the monitoring, installation, and activation of malicious software protection tools, applying security protocols to network connectivity, managing user identity and logical access, and providing security data as needed when investigations arise.

10%Identify new technologies necessary to support a high-tech, high-touch business strategy.

10%Performs other related duties as assigned.
Performance Measurements:
1.Service & Support – Ticket resolution time, employee training
2.Infrastructure & Operations – Uptime/Availability of critical services, backup success rate
3.Security & Compliance – Number of security incidents, patching compliance
4.Project Management – Timely completion of projects, identifying new projects to improve efficiency and/or member satisfaction
Knowledge and Skills:
ExperienceFive to ten years of similar or related experience.
Education(1) A Backelor's degree, or (2) achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree (e.g., information technology certifications in lieu of a degree).
Interpersonal SkillsWork involves motivating and influencing other leaders and stakeholders to accomplish key organizational objectives. External contacts are vital, not only for the success of the position, but the success of the organization overall. Work involves making material presentations to the Board of Directors, community leaders, and business leaders.
Other SkillsPreference will be given to candidates that have experience with Jack Henry Symitar, Banno, and financial institution experience.
