Umlaut SE is looking for a talented Java Application Manager (JAM) to join our team. As a JAM, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end life cycle of our Java-based applications, ensuring their smooth operation, performance, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities: - Monitor and maintain the health and performance of our Java applications, proactively identifying and resolving issues. - Collaborate with the development team to implement new features, bug fixes, and upgrades, ensuring a seamless integration into the production environment. - Automate and streamline deployment processes, ensuring consistent and reliable application deployments. - Analyze application logs, metrics, and monitoring data to identify trends, optimize resource utilization, and improve overall application performance. - Implement and maintain effective backup and disaster recovery strategies to ensure the availability and recoverability of our critical applications. - Participate in on-call rotations and respond to production incidents, providing timely resolution and effective communication. - Continuously enhance the application architecture, infrastructure, and tooling to improve scalability, reliability, and maintainability. Requirements: - Minimum 5 years of experience in Java application management or a similar role. - Proficient in Java application development, deployment, and troubleshooting. - Strong understanding of application monitoring, logging, and performance optimization techniques. - Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker) and orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes). - Experience with DevOps practices, including continuous integration and deployment. - Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Strong communication and collaboration skills to effectively interact with cross-functional teams. - Experience in managing critical production systems and handling incident response is a plus.
