Role & Responsibilities
- Lead and manage UK Year-End accounting assignments, ensuring accurate preparation and finalization of accounts in software such as IRIS, TaxCalc, and Xero.
- Review and supervise work prepared by junior accountants; provide feedback, training, and guidance to maintain accuracy and efficiency.
- Prepare and review VAT returns, management accounts, and balance sheet reconciliations using Xero, QuickBooks, and other UK bookkeeping platforms.
- Ensure compliance with UK GAAP and HMRC filing standards.
- Communicate proactively with UK clients to resolve queries, explain variances, and ensure timely completion of deliverables.
- Liaise with HMRC, and client teams for submissions and clarifications.
- Ensure that turnaround times (TAT) and accuracy targets are consistently met.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives and implementation of automation or workflow enhancements.
- Provide periodic performance updates to team leads and management.
This is a full-time, on-site role for a UK Accountant, based in Ahmedabad. The UK Accountant will be responsible for preparing and managing year-end accounts, processing VAT returns, and ensuring compliance with UK tax regulations. Other responsibilities include performing bookkeeping, managing payroll, assisting with audits, and collaborating with clients to provide financial insights and solutions. Attention to detail and adherence to applicable compliance and reporting standards are key aspects of this role.

Preferred Candidate Profile
- Strong understanding of UK accounting, year-end, and VAT processes.
- Excellent command over Excel and cloud accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, TaxCalc, IRIS).
- Exceptional communication and review skills.
- Capable of managing multiple assignments, mentoring team members, and ensuring delivery excellence.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines under pressure.
Key Skills & Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience in the UK accounting industry.
- Proven experience handling UK Year-End finalization, VAT, and review of junior accountants’ work.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Prior experience in outsourcing or KPO environment preferred.
