Job Description – UI/UX Engineer

Position Overview
We are looking for a talented and creative UI/UX Engineer who can bridge the gap between user experience design and front-end development. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing intuitive, engaging, accessible, and visually appealing digital experiences and translating those designs into high-quality, responsive user interfaces.
The candidate should have a strong understanding of UX principles, UI design, design systems, usability, responsive design, and front-end technologies, with the ability to collaborate closely with Product Managers, Developers, Business Teams, and other stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
UI/UX Design
- Design intuitive and user-friendly interfaces for web and mobile applications.
- Create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, mockups, and high-fidelity UI designs.
- Conduct user research, usability analysis, and competitive benchmarking.
- Translate business and user requirements into effective UX solutions.
- Develop and maintain consistent design systems, UI components, patterns, and style guides.
- Ensure designs follow accessibility, usability, and responsive design best practices.
- Create interactive prototypes to communicate user journeys and design concepts.
- Analyze user feedback and product analytics to identify opportunities for improving user experience.
Front-End Engineering
- Convert UI/UX designs into responsive, production-ready interfaces.
- Develop reusable and scalable UI components.
- Work closely with front-end developers to ensure accurate implementation of designs.
- Ensure cross-browser and cross-device compatibility.
- Optimize interfaces for performance, accessibility, responsiveness, and usability.
- Understand and work with technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Angular or Vue.js.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to UI engineering standards and best practices.
Collaboration
- Work closely with Product Managers, Business Analysts, Developers, QA, and other stakeholders.
- Participate in requirements gathering, design reviews, sprint planning, and product discussions.
- Clearly communicate design decisions and technical considerations to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with development teams to resolve UI/UX implementation issues.
- Balance user needs, business requirements, technical constraints, and project timelines.
Required Skills
UI/UX
- Strong knowledge of UI/UX design principles.
- Experience with Figma and/or other design and prototyping tools.
- Strong understanding of user-centered design and design thinking.
- Experience creating wireframes, prototypes, user flows, and high-fidelity designs.
- Knowledge of responsive and mobile-first design.
- Understanding of accessibility and WCAG principles.
- Strong understanding of typography, layouts, color theory, spacing, and visual hierarchy.
- Experience working with design systems and reusable components.
Technical
- Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Working experience with at least one modern front-end framework such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.
- Understanding of REST APIs and integration of front-end applications with backend services.
- Knowledge of Git/version control.
- Understanding of browser developer tools and front-end debugging.
- Basic understanding of web performance optimization.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with React.js, Next.js, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS or Material UI.
- Experience developing and maintaining enterprise design systems.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards such as WCAG 2.1/2.2.
- Experience with usability testing and A/B testing.
- Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Experience working on enterprise applications, SaaS products, dashboards, or workflow-based applications.
- Familiarity with analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Hotjar, Mixpanel, or similar platforms.
- Knowledge of CI/CD and modern software development practices is an advantage.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related discipline.
- Equivalent practical experience may also be considered.
Experience
3–6 years of relevant experience in UI/UX Design, Front-End Development, UI Engineering, or a combination of these disciplines.
Candidates with experience combining UX design + front-end development will be strongly preferred.

- Where applicable, examples of implemented front-end interfaces
Note: The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate both design thinking and practical front-end engineering capability, rather than focusing exclusively on either UI/UX design or coding.
