About Fonix Technology
Fonix Technologies is an IT services and consulting company based in Jaipur, building digital products for businesses worldwide—spanning web and mobile development, product engineering, cloud solutions, AI/ML, and UI/UX design. We combine clean engineering with bold, high-tech design thinking to help clients ship with clarity, confidence, and speed. AI runs through our entire pipeline — from research and UX flows to production code and deployment — and we run multiple live client engagements at once, working directly with founders and product leaders. Design decisions here are backed by reasoning, not just aesthetics. If you like fast feedback loops, real client stakes, and a team that documents why a design works and not just what it looks like—this is that kind of place.
About the Role
We're hiring a UI/UX designer with around a year of hands-on experience to join our design team. You'll work end-to-end on client projects—from wireframes to polished, developer-ready UI—under the guidance of your team lead. This isn't a role where you'll only push pixels: you'll be expected to think about why a screen works, present that thinking clearly, and hand off files developers can build from without back-and-forth.
You'll also be expected to work comfortably alongside AI tools—for ideation, first-draft layouts, content generation, and speeding up production—because that's how we design and build here.
What You'll Do
Design execution
- Turn approved UX flows into clean, consistent UI screens across web and mobile
- Build wireframes, user flows, and interactive prototypes in Figma for review before final UI work begins
- Keep revisions focused—incorporate Team Lead feedback in a maximum of 2–3 rounds per screen, not open-ended iteration
- Maintain and reuse components from our shared Figma design system rather than creating one-off duplicates
Human-centered thinking
- Ground design decisions in how users actually behave, not just visual preference—apply basic principles like cognitive load, visual hierarchy, and error prevention
- Be able to explain why a layout or flow works the way it does, in plain language, when a Team Lead, developer, or client asks
File hygiene & developer handoff
- Keep Figma files clean—pages organized in task-flow order, with a clear navigation guide for developers
- Prepare handoff-ready files — annotated specs, exported assets, responsive frames — so developers aren't left guessing
- Do a self-QA pass on your own screens against the design before marking work "ready for dev."
Collaboration & communication
- Join project stand-ups and design reviews; walk the team through your design decisions
- Flag at-risk timelines to your team lead early—before they become a deadline problem
- Take part in client-facing reviews alongside your Team Lead as you build confidence presenting your own work
Working with AI in the workflow
- Use AI tools — Figma's built-in AI features, Readdy AI, Claude, or similar — to speed up first drafts, layout exploration, and content/copy placeholders. Prior hands-on experience with tools like Readdy AI or Claude for design work is a strong plus
- Know where AI-generated output needs your judgment—accessibility, brand consistency, and edge cases still need a human eye
What We're Looking For
- ~1 year of professional experience in UI/UX or product design (agency, startup, or in-house)—a strong portfolio matters as much as the exact years
- Proficient in Figma — auto-layout, components, variants, basic prototyping; comfortable using it as your primary tool day-to-day
- A portfolio with 2–3 real case studies showing your process (not just final screens) — problem, flow, decisions made, and why
- Solid grip on UX fundamentals: information architecture, wireframing, usability heuristics, responsive/mobile-first design
- Clear communication—you can explain a design decision without just saying "it looks better."
- Comfortable working on multiple projects at once in a fast-moving environment with tight timelines
- Willingness to work in Hinglish internally and switch to polished, professional English for anything client-facing
Good to Have
- Prior exposure to AI-assisted design workflows (Figma AI, Uizard, v0, Framer AI, or similar) — even self-taught/exploratory use counts
- Basic understanding of HTML/CSS — enough to have realistic conversations with developers about feasibility
- Experience working directly with client stakeholders, not just an internal team
- Familiarity with design systems / component libraries beyond just "using" one — understanding how they're structured
What Fonix Offers
- Real client projects from week one — not a training sandbox
- Direct mentorship from a Team Lead who reviews and explains, not just approves/rejects
- A design + AI-native workflow — you'll build skills that are ahead of where most of the market is right now
- Exposure across multiple industries and product types through our active client roster
