Udyat Ventures is the family office of Mr. Harsh Gupta, who is the MD of Udyat Group. This is a 50-year-old diversified group working on international projects in power, water, smart city, and several such related fields. Through the investment arm, we are actively investing in early-stage tech start-ups across sectors. We generally invest from seed to pre-series A stages writing checks of 500K to 1 Mn USD and are completely sector agnostic. The partners Mr. Rahul Gupta and Mr. Harsh Gupta have been business builders and entrepreneurs themselves, investing in startups for a very long time, and have seen some stellar exits as well. Rahul has been a veteran in the VC space along with being a serial entrepreneur and start-up investor. The idea is to help startups with not just capital but also their own know-how and business networks built over the years. Key responsibilities: Identify high-potential opportunities at a very early stage and create a pipeline of high-quality deal flow Build pipelines/databases for deal sourcing via universities, VCs, incubators, accelerators, bankers, etc. Work methodically towards creating propriety deal pipelines (leveraging various databases) Work on the market and sectoral research to develop a rock-solid investment thesis that would be of interest for exploring investment opportunities Analyze and monitor market trends, growth potential, and upcoming sub-segments Analyze investment opportunities as per the mandate of the firm on important parameters around, business, finance, market, competition, etc. Work on the detailed evaluation of potential investment opportunities Prepare detailed financial models by doing a thorough balance sheet and P&L analysis Prepare IC presentations/notes to be presented to the partners Work on the diligence of financial, legal, and commercial portfolios Maintain lists of startup interactions and various data sets around the evaluation of those startups Involve in monitoring portfolio companies including financial and operating performance Prepare periodic reports for internal reviews Build an understanding of investment instruments used in equity investments to structure transactions well, execution of investment agreements/documents, build legal understanding to review/negotiate definitive agreements (SPA, SHA, etc.), draft term sheets, associated legal tasks Handle any other ad-hoc work as per the requirement
