Deployment Engineer - Entry Level
Entry-level role focused on end-user device deployment automation, working with senior engineers across systems administration, scripting, networking, and virtualization.
We are seeking a motivated and growth-oriented candidate to join our team. This role is ideal for someone early in their IT career who is eager to build hands-on experience across systems administration, automation, networking, and virtualization. The ideal candidate brings foundational technical knowledge, a strong desire to learn, and the discipline to grow into a fully independent engineer.
- Provide first-line support for end-user systems (Windows, macOS, iOS, Android), applications, and infrastructure issues.
- Assist with system deployments, imaging, configuration, and maintenance tasks.
- Work with senior engineers to troubleshoot issues across Windows environments, networks (Cisco), and virtualized systems (VMware and Hyper-V).
- Support automation and scripting initiatives, with heavy exposure to PowerShell for operational tasks, reporting, and workflow improvements.
- Collaborate directly with customers to gather technical requirements, clarify needs, and ensure accurate implementation of requested changes.
- Document work, updates, and requirements in Jira, ensuring tickets are properly maintained, detailed, and kept current.
- Participate in documentation efforts, including SOPs, knowledge base articles, and environment diagrams.
- Assist in production-impacting incidents and root-cause analysis alongside senior engineers.
- Foundational knowledge of at least one programming or scripting language (PowerShell, Python, C#, JavaScript, etc.).
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (switching, routing, VPNs).
- Basic understanding of virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
- Familiarity with the Windows operating system.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to work directly with customers to gather requirements and translate them into actionable tasks.
- Ability to maintain accurate and organized Jira updates.
- Strong problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn new technologies quickly.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Exposure to PowerShell scripting or automation.
- Experience with ticketing systems or ITSM processes.
Certification Requirements:
Candidates are not required to hold certifications at the time of hire; however, the following certifications must be obtained post-hire as part of the role's development path:
- CompTIA A+
- ComTIA Network+
Training support and study resources will be provided to ensure successful completion.
