Lead – UI/UX Designer

About The Role

We are seeking a Lead UI/UX Designer who brings a strong blend of creativity, user empathy, data-driven thinking, and design leadership. This role is ideal for someone with experience working across D2C products who can mentor a growing team, define design strategy, and ensure consistent and delightful user experiences across digital touchpoints.

Key Responsibilities

Design Leadership & Execution

• Lead the end-to-end design process across web and mobile platforms.
• Create user flows, wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, and interactive prototypes.
• Maintain and evolve our design system for brand and visual consistency.
  
  

Team Mentorship & Collaboration

• Mentor and guide junior designers, fostering a culture of feedback, learning, and design excellence.
• Conduct regular design reviews and coach the team on design best practices.
• Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Engineers, QA, and other stakeholders to align design with business goals.
  
  

Project & Execution Planning

• Drive the design planning process including task breakdowns, prioritization, and timelines.
• Ensure seamless handoff to developers and support through implementation.
• Participate in sprint planning and contribute to cross-functional agile processes.
  
  

Research, Testing & Optimization

• Conduct user research and usability testing to guide and validate design decisions.
• Use UI audit and behavior analytics tools such as Microsoft Clarity, Hotjar, or FullStory to gain insights.
• Lead A/B testing efforts and analyze outcomes to optimize user flows and conversions.
  
  

Tooling & Innovation

• Champion the adoption of modern design tools and workflows (e.g., Figma, Zeplin, FigJam).
• Explore and integrate AI-based design tooling and automation to improve team velocity.
• Stay updated on UI/UX trends, accessibility standards, and emerging technologies.
  
  

UX Writing

• Craft thoughtful and effective UX copy and microcopy to guide users through interfaces.
• Ensure tone and voice align with brand personality and user context.
  
  

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in UI/UX design, with at least 1–2 years in a leadership or mentoring role.
• Strong portfolio showcasing impactful design work, problem solving, and design systems.
• Mastery in tools like Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD.
• Solid understanding of user-centered design, interaction design, and accessibility standards.
• Hands-on experience with analytics and experimentation tools like Clarity, Google Optimize, Mixpanel, etc.
• Excellent communication, storytelling, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Basic understanding of front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a plus.

• Experience working with D2C brands and customer-first product environments.
• Domain knowledge in domain like Travel, Finance, E-commerce, or Housing.
• Experience designing for conversion-centric funnels and mobile-first products.
• Exposure to tools for heatmapping, UI session recording, or performance audits.
• Comfort with fast-paced, agile, and iterative product development environments.
