Position Summary: UCOR is seeking an experienced and dedicated Assistant Superintendent II / Superintendent I to oversee and manage field construction activities on critical environmental cleanup projects. This role involves the development and implementation of work procedures, ensuring adherence to safety standards, schedules, and budgets, and the effective coordination of craft activities. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring project conformance to specifications and regulatory requirements. Minimum Required Education and Experience: - High school diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum of 12 years of related work experience, with at least 4 years in field supervision.
Key Responsibilities: - Develop and implement work procedures, ensuring alignment with project specifications and company standards.
- Monitor and manage craft work activities and performance against established budgets, schedules, and deadlines.
- Review and interpret plans, specifications, drawings, and schedules to determine optimal work phases and priorities.
- Assist in coordinating material deliveries, storage, and expediting efforts to support the project schedule.
- Prepare projections and schedules for manpower, material, and equipment needs.
- Prepare field change notices, extra work orders, and back charge notices as required.
- Review and interpret project controls documents to assess progress and ensure effective cost control.
- Conduct field inspections to evaluate progress, operational efficiency, and cost control, while ensuring the safe completion of project work scope.
- Maintain accurate records of costs and quantity information, analyze data, and prepare reports for project management using standardized automation tools.
- Supervise the activities of subcontractors to ensure compliance with project plans and specifications.
- Administer change notices and amendments, and audit contractor requests for progress payments.
- Ensure all construction adheres to design specifications and is completed within schedule and budget.
- Supervise and direct activities of construction craftsmen within an assigned area of responsibility, under general supervision.
- Responsible for ensuring the quality of work performed meets all specified requirements.
- Analyze manpower, material, and equipment requirements, and coordinate area discipline work plans with other designated superintendents.
- Implement and enforce company policies, safety procedures (including UCOR’s "Zero Accident" safety program), and related work rules.
- Prepare necessary reports and forecasts, keeping supervisors informed on the progress of assigned activities.
- Demonstrates considerable knowledge and experience of the field construction process and related activities and requirements.
Job Knowledge: - Demonstrated technical knowledge relevant to construction management of heavy industrial projects or commercial complexes.
- Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications in accordance with UCOR's current standard application program standards.
- Awareness of environmental compliance laws and requirements.
- Awareness of government compliance standards.
- Knowledge of UCOR’s “Zero Accident” safety program and commitment to safety culture.
- Familiarity with current industry quality standards.
