We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented specialist to play a key role in developing and enhancing VERA, our proprietary, state-of-the-art analysis and downscaling system for meteorological data. Your main responsibilities are: Operate, maintain, and continuously improve VERA, UBIMET's unique meteorological analysis and downscaling method Advance the development of downstream physical models and algorithms that deliver more precise forecasts. Define and investigate case studies around complex weather phenomena — from convective storms to isothermal snowfall. Evaluate and compare different meteorological simulation methods to ensure we're always delivering the most accurate insights. Convert and visualize analyzed and simulated results Job requirements What you need to be successful: A completed Master's degree in Meteorology, Physics, Geophysics, or a related field Experience in working with and developing meteorological forecasting models Good understanding of fluid dynamics (numerics, dynamics, physics) and statistics Programming skills in Python and Matlab Experience with Linux as a working environment Advanced English skills, German is a plus A goal-oriented and result driven approach
