Strategic Operations Team Lead, Consumer Growth

About The Role

Uber Eats is looking for a Strategic Operations Lead to be the people manager for a team developing and implementing efficient and impactful growth strategies for some of our largest Grocery and Retail partners.

This operations role calls for a combination of people management, stakeholder management, creative problem-solving, operational optimization, strong data analytics, and project management. Strong communication skills, especially being able to handle both technical and high level conversations with seasoned external leadership, are crucial since a big part of this role will be externally-facing. You should be comfortable in an 'all hands on deck' setting, enjoy solving complex problems, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. You will work cross-functionally with other teams and external partners to make their brands a success and grow the overall Uber Eats business.

What You Will Do

• Build : This role will be responsible for building a high-performing team responsible for growing our largest merchants across grocery, convenience, alcohol, and retail in the US and Canada. This includes delivering strong merchant launches and driving growth for existing brands on Uber Eats through co-marketing plans.
• Analyze : Set a culture of data-driven decision making within the team; use quantitative analysis to understand business trends and marketing performance and craft your recommendations to senior leadership and external partners.
• Strategize: Think creatively to identify new opportunities to drive win-win growth for Uber and merchants. Develop business cases, prioritization frameworks, and implementation plans and unify co-marketing approach across merchants to optimize for overall Uber and merchant business goals.
• Turn strategy into action: Set a high bar for quality execution, be a connector across teams, and unblock challenges as they arise. Present and get buy-in from e-commerce and marketing leadership at top grocery and retail partners.
• Collaborate: Work with internal and external stakeholders to create new ways for merchants to grow on the platform and maximize their growth dollars, understanding how to marry the goals of Uber Eats and the merchant.
• Scale: Develop and implement processes that scale across merchants and the platform more broadly to increase efficiency and drive growth.
  
  

Basic Qualifications

• 7+ years of operations, business/ general management, growth operations, strategy, planning, management consulting or similar experience
• 1+ years of managing a team
• Proficiency in data analysis tools, SQL proficiency preferred
• Bachelor's degree
  
  

Preferred Qualification

• Management consulting, marketplace growth operations, or strategy work in a large business (4+ years preferred)
• 2+ years of client-facing experience
• Experience in grocery, retail, or CPG industries is a plus
• Experience managing a team, including a track record or leading others to deliver exceptional work and business impact and coaching individuals to support their growth. Experience in building a new team is a plus.
• Proven record of building and improving complex processes to enable team to deliver higher quality work more efficiently
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong presence; able to work with senior stakeholders, manage challenging conversations and communicate information clearly to diverse audiences
• Experienced in structuring complex problems and making data-driven decisions - analytically strong with ability to dive into complex quantitative data analysis with team
• Able to solve problems creatively, build new solutions, experiment and take bold bets despite risk of failure
• Bias toward action and master simplifier - constantly pushing toward alignment, clarity and execution on tight timelines
• Phenomenal partner management and collaboration skills - proactively building deep, trust-based relationships across internal teams and with external partners
• Self-motivated and able to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment
  
  

For Chicago, IL-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$140,000 per year - USD$155,000 per year. For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$155,000 per year - USD$172,000 per year. For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$155,000 per year - USD$172,000 per year. For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
