Role Description
The UAS Engineer will be responsible for designing, integrating, testing, and maintaining unmanned aerial systems (UAS) for various applications, with a focus on reliability, performance, and safety. Day-to-day work includes collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and refine airframes, propulsion systems, avionics, payloads, and ground control components, as well as conducting lab and field tests to validate system performance. The role will involve troubleshooting hardware and software issues, optimizing flight parameters, preparing technical documentation, and supporting certification or compliance activities as required. The UAS Engineer will also contribute to continuous improvements in manufacturing, assembly, and maintenance processes and provide technical support during customer deployments and demonstrations. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in aerospace, mechanical, electronics, or related engineering disciplines, with experience in UAV/UAS system development and integration.
- Hands-on skills in airframe design, propulsion selection, and structural analysis for multirotor or fixed-wing platforms.
- Experience with avionics, flight controllers, navigation sensors, communication links, and ground control systems.
- Proficiency in CAD tools and basic simulation or analysis software used in drone design and validation.
- Ability to conduct field testing, flight trials, data collection, and performance tuning under real-world conditions.
- Knowledge of basic programming or scripting (e.g., C/C++, Python, or embedded systems) for UAS control and automation is an advantage.
- Familiarity with relevant aviation regulations, safety standards, and best practices for unmanned systems is beneficial.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or similar) or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
