Duties
You will serve as an an Engineering Technician supporting Facilities Division products and perfoming related services at Marine Corps Base Quantico.,You will perform/coordinate a wide variety of complex/major work requirements associated with surveying, inspecting, programming, estimating, designing, monitoring, reviewing and managing all types of sustainment, repairs and other related work.,You will develop programmed and unprogrammed execution plans and perform field investigations and surveys to determine existing conditions and adequacy/deficiencies of sites.,You will determine and estimate costs for required new and/or corrective work by coordinating with clients to understand desired results,You will ensure programmed proposed work is feasible as it relates to existing real estate, environmental, wildlife, site and other constraints.,You will review, assess and resolve construction and design problems encountered during the performance of assigned projects.,You will perform periodic inspections of work performed by others and inspects high-risk-of-failure areas such as mechanical, electrical, and fire protection to ensure quality.,Position is eligible for situational telework and the discretion of management.
Qualifications
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Reviews electrical drawings and specifications for contractibility, cost estimates and choice of materials; 2) Conduct construction inspections, investigations, or surveys of electrical engineering systems such as: electrical transformers, electrical distribution systems, motor control centers, interior wiring for lighting and heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) control systems, fire or security alarm systems, and grounding systems.; 3) Act as point of contact between the Contracts Office and the customer during construction contract solicitation and performance, resolving electrical engineering related issues as they arise; 4) Plan and design new construction, renovation and improvement projects on real property facilities that integrate electrical and other engineering disciplines (i.e. civil, mechanical, and architectural).
