Duties
Works under the supervision of the Shop Foreman who issues instructions on work sequences, procedures, methods, and deadlines, and relies on the incumbent to assure that work assignments are carried out by other members of the group.,Must have sufficient knowledge of the overhaul, repair and installation of a variety of components, accessories, parts, assemblies; the ability to show proper techniques to be followed.,Provides assistance and technical guidance to participants on practical aspects of make-up, operation/installation of components, assemblies and systems of various types of privately owned automotive vehicles of American and foreign manufacture.,Checks out tools and equipment to customers and may collect amount for user fees. Maintains records pertaining to tools and equipment .,Must be able to communicate effectively with shop patrons, both by oral means and by demonstrating work methods.

Allowances and Differentials This job falls under the Federal Wage Schedule (FWS) pay system. FWS employees earn overtime pay for working more than 8 hours in a day or more than 40 hours in a week -- whichever gives the employee more benefit. Regular full-time, regular part-time, and regularly scheduled flexible employees may receive Sunday premium pay for working on Sundays. Employees may also be eligible to receive extra pay if the majority of their scheduled hours falls after 3:00 PM. Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
