This Safety Specialist is responsible for Safety and assisting Management. This Team Member must be able to work on and have knowledge of the Safety Department. The Team Member will also assist Supervisors and the Safety Department with safety meetings to ensure objectives are obtained. Team Member will be able to communicate safety tracking to include injuries, illnesses, observation cards, work orders, safety success stories, Co2 readings, lock and tags and perform any other duties as assigned. The Team Member must be willing to work while standing or walking on hard floors for a period of 10-12 hours. The Team Member must be willing to complete all required training for the job. Computer knowledge is a preferred skill. Must be willing to work in hot and cold environments (ranging from 25 to 110 degrees.)
Requirements:
Must have 1 year of Fresh Meat experience. Must be able to communicate effectively to all team members and Management to resolve safety issues. Candidates with 6 or more attendance points and/or any suspension discipline on file within the last 12 months at the time of posting will not be considered. Available to bargaining unit team members only. The successful candidate must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
This position is slated for team members who are currently working at the Joslin complex plant ONLY.
Team members interested in transferring into this position from another Tyson facility should express interest through their local HR Partner.
