Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Node.js and TypeScript
Build and optimize RESTful APIs and microservices architecture
Containerize applications using Docker for consistent development and deployment environments
Manage source code using Git, including branching strategies and version control best practices
Create, review, and manage Pull Requests (PRs) ensuring code quality and team collaboration
Participate in code reviews and enforce coding standards and best practices
Work with CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment processes
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including frontend, QA, DevOps, and product teams
Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems
Ensure application performance, scalability, and security
Work closely with UK-based stakeholders during overlapping hours

Required Skills & Qualifications

6+ years of experience in backend development
Strong proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js
Experience with frameworks such as Express.js or NestJS
Hands-on experience with Docker and containerization
Strong experience with Git workflows, including branching, merging, and Pull Requests
Solid understanding of asynchronous programming and event-driven architecture
Experience building and consuming REST APIs (GraphQL is a plus)
Strong knowledge of databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, etc.)
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
Understanding of CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.)
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
