Sound Designer

A skilled sound designer is sought to assist in recreating a large library of iconic sounds from hit songs across a wide range of genres using a Serum-style wavetable synthesizer. This role involves accurately replicating synthesizer patches to a professional standard, requiring a precise ear and advanced synthesis knowledge. The initial project is expected to span several weeks to a few months depending on the final scope, with the potential to expand into additional tasks such as porting Serum patches to other wavetable synths. Ideal candidates will have extensive experience in sound design and preset creation, particularly with genres such as EDM, hip hop, pop, techno, and ambient. This is a remote position with long-term collaboration potential.

Requirements

• Extensive experience using wavetable synthesizers, especially Serum or similar
• Proven ability to recreate sounds from commercial tracks with high accuracy
• Deep understanding of synthesis, sound design, and audio production workflows
• Strong familiarity with a wide range of genres: EDM, hip hop, pop, trance, dubstep, techno, future bass, drum and bass, reggaeton, ambient, etc.
• Previous experience creating or contributing to preset packs
• Ability to port patches between synthesizers with precision and attention to detail
• Strong critical listening and analytical skills
• Reliable, self-motivated, and able to manage full-time or near full-time work remotely
• Flexible availability to accommodate project scaling based on reference list size
• Good communication and openness to long-term collaboration
