Manager - Enterprise Systems

Role Overview

The Manager – Enterprise Systems is responsible for leading the delivery, integration, and support of TW Metals' core business systems, including the Metalware ERP, Gains MRP, NexGen 4.0 WMS, EDI platform, and Salesforce CRM.

This role ensures reliable and efficient execution of end-to-end Order-to-Cash (O2C) and Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes across Sales, Finance, Procurement, and Operations. The position plays a key role in improving system capabilities, supporting day-to-day operations, and driving process consistency across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

ERP & Core Business Systems (O2C & P2P)

• Lead the design, implementation, and support of the Metalware ERP and Gains MRP supporting:
  • Order-to-Cash (O2C): quote-to-order, order processing, fulfillment, shipping, invoicing, AR, and collections
  • Procure-to-Pay (P2P): PO creation and approvals, goods receipt, inventory updates, invoice matching, AP processing, and payments
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial and operational data
• Partner with Finance and Procurement to improve procurement workflows and vendor processes
• Identify and implement opportunities to streamline order processing, purchasing, and invoicing

EDI & B2B Integration

• Manage EDI transactions (850, 855, 856, 810) and related integrations
• Ensure reliable data exchange between ERP, customers, and suppliers
• Support onboarding of new trading partners and resolve transaction issues
• Maintain and improve integration standards using APIs and middleware

WMS & Warehouse Operations (NexGen 4.0)

• Ensure alignment between Metalware ERP transactions and NexGen 4.0 warehouse execution
• Support inbound (receiving against POs) and outbound (order fulfillment) processes
• Work with Operations to improve inventory accuracy and warehouse efficiency

Salesforce CRM & Customer Systems

• Align Salesforce CRM with ERP order management processes
• Provide visibility into customer orders, pricing, credit, and invoicing
• Support improvements in sales operations and customer service processes

Team Leadership

• Lead and support a team of enterprise systems analysts/engineers
• Manage priorities across projects, enhancements, and production support
• Provide coaching, guidance, and development opportunities

Application Support & Operations

• Oversee support for ERP, EDI, CRM, and WMS systems
• Act as escalation point for issues impacting business operations
• Ensure system availability and adherence to SLAs
• Improve monitoring and incident response processes

Project Delivery & Enhancements

• Lead system implementations, upgrades, and enhancement initiatives
• Work with business stakeholders to gather and prioritize requirements
• Deliver improvements across order management, procurement, and financial processes
• Coordinate with vendors and manage third-party relationships

Process Optimization & Governance

• Drive continuous improvement across order management, procurement and vendor workflows, and inventory and warehouse processes
• Support ITIL processes (incident, problem, and change management)
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and SOX requirements

Integration & Architecture

• Maintain integration architecture across Metalware ERP, Gains MRP, NexGen 4.0 WMS, EDI, and Salesforce CRM
• Ensure consistent and reliable data flow across systems
• Support scalable and maintainable integration patterns

Project & Portfolio Management

• Manage a portfolio of enterprise systems projects, balancing priorities across new implementations, enhancements, and technical debt
• Define project scope, timelines, milestones, and resource plans in partnership with business stakeholders
• Track and report project status, risks, and dependencies to leadership
• Ensure alignment of project investments with business strategy and IT roadmap
• Establish and maintain project governance standards, including intake, prioritization, and change control

AI & Emerging Technologies

• Identify and evaluate opportunities to apply AI, machine learning, and intelligent automation across enterprise systems
• Drive adoption of AI-powered capabilities such as predictive demand forecasting, intelligent order routing, automated invoice matching, and anomaly detection
• Leverage AI tools and copilots to improve team productivity in development, testing, and support workflows
• Stay current on AI trends in supply chain, ERP, and enterprise integration and assess applicability to TW Metals
• Partner with the Advanced Technologies team to pilot and scale AI initiatives across the enterprise systems landscape

Strategy & Continuous Improvement

• Contribute to the roadmap for ERP and enterprise system enhancements
• Identify opportunities for automation in PO processing, invoice matching, and order fulfillment
• Support use of analytics and reporting to improve operational visibility

 

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, or related field
• 10+ years of experience in enterprise systems (ERP, EDI, WMS, CRM)
• Strong understanding of Order-to-Cash (O2C) and Procure-to-Pay (P2P), including PO lifecycle and invoice matching
• Experience with enterprise integrations and EDI platforms
• Demonstrated ability to manage a portfolio of concurrent projects with competing priorities
• Prior experience leading or mentoring a team
• Background in distribution, manufacturing, or supply chain

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience within metals distribution or similar industry
• Exposure to warehouse automation technologies
• Experience with ERP/MRP/WMS platforms (e.g., Metalware, Gains, NexGen, Manhattan, SAP, Sterling OMS)
• Certifications (ITIL, Scrum, PMP, Cloud)
• Experience with analytics and reporting tools
• Hands-on experience with AI/ML tools, intelligent automation, or AI-assisted development (e.g., copilots, LLMs, RPA)
• Familiarity with project portfolio management (PPM) tools and methodologies
