Context:
TV Operations is responsible for running and supporting the production platforms that deliver TV services to customers. The organization operates across the complete TV delivery chain, from content ingestion and processing to service delivery and customer-facing backend systems.
The operational landscape is structured around three main technology domains:
• VHE (Video Head End): Manages the acquisition, processing, and distribution of TV content across the operator network. This includes the delivery of encrypted multicast streams used for large-scale linear TV broadcasting.
• Streaming: Manages the OTT and on-demand streaming platforms, including content recording, transcoding, packaging, DRM encryption, quality optimization, and delivery of unicast streams to customer devices.
• Entertainment: Manages the backend applications, middleware platforms, and service components that enable the TV customer experience, including content management, service orchestration, metadata, and platform integrations.
The TV ecosystem relies on close collaboration between TV Operations teams, product and client development teams, DevOps organizations, and strategic technology partners. Together they support a complex set of interconnected systems, ranging from application platforms and middleware to shared infrastructure services such as OpenStack/OpenShift, networking, provisioning, transmission, authentication, reporting and monitoring.
In practice, TV Operations acts as the operational bridge between the TV platforms, the underlying infrastructure, and the various engineering teams, ensuring service availability, performance, resilience, and continuous evolution of the TV ecosystem.
Your role:
This role sits within the team responsible for the day-to-day operation of Proximus' television platform and the associated backend services that deliver TV content to customers.
Although the platform is built on the Accenture Video Solutions (AVS) technology stack, the position goes beyond supporting a specific application. The primary focus is ensuring the end-to-end availability, stability, and performance of the TV service experienced by customers.
Key responsibilities include:
· Monitoring and operating critical TV backend systems on a daily basis.
· Participating in an on-call (guard duty) rotation to ensure service continuity and rapid incident response.
· Performing preventive maintenance activities, software updates, and platform health checks.
· Troubleshooting and coordinating the resolution of incidents across multiple technology domains.
· Driving continuous improvements in operational processes, automation, monitoring, and service reliability.
· Working closely with vendors, engineering teams, and operational stakeholders to maintain agreed service levels and KPIs.
The ideal candidate combines strong operational and troubleshooting skills with a service-oriented mindset. They are comfortable working in a complex technical ecosystem, taking ownership of issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and continuously looking for ways to improve service quality and operational efficiency.
The team culture is based on collaboration, accountability, agile ways of working, and continuous improvement.
