Role Description
This is a remote, contract-based role for a Turkish & Ukrainian Copy Editor. The role involves editing and proofreading content for grammar, consistency, and accuracy in Turkish and Ukrainian. Daily tasks include reviewing text to maintain adherence to editorial guidelines, refining tone and clarity, and collaborating with teams to ensure the quality of final outputs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform copy editing for Turkish and/or Ukrainian content
- Ensure grammar, punctuation, spelling, and syntax accuracy
- Improve clarity, readability, and flow of the content
- Maintain consistency in tone, terminology, and formatting
- Follow client-specific style guides (APA, Chicago, MLA, etc.)
- Review translated content for contextual and cultural accuracy
- Meet tight deadlines and maintain quality standards
- Collaborate with project managers and QA teams when required
Requirements:
- Native or near-native proficiency in Turkish or Ukrainian
- Strong command of English (reading and comprehension)
- Proven experience in copy editing / proofreading
- Experience in academic, research, or publishing content preferred
- Familiarity with style guides (APA, MLA, Chicago, etc.)
- Excellent attention to detail and consistency
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications:
- Background in linguistics, literature, journalism, or related field
- Prior experience with translation editing / localization projects
- Experience working with global clients or publishing houses
