Description
Core Responsibilities :
- Application Development : Design and build advanced Android applications from the ground up using Kotlin.
- Code Quality : Write clean, maintainable, high-performance code and uphold standards through reviews.
- UI/UX Implementation : Translate designs into responsive, pixel-perfect interfaces in close collaboration with designers.
- API Integration : Integrate RESTful APIs and third-party SDKs reliably.
- Testing & Performance : Write unit and instrumentation tests; identify and fix bottlenecks, memory leaks, and ANRs.
- Observability : Own crash and performance monitoring using Sentry, Crashlytics, and Play Console Vitals drive crash-free rate and ANR rate as first-class metrics.
- Code Quality Automation : Set up PR-level checks (Danger, Detekt, ktlint, SonarQube) to catch crashes, ANRs, and regressions before they ship.
- Release Management : Manage Play Store releases with staged rollouts, feature flags, and quick rollback when needed.
Required Skills
- Expert in Android SDK, Android Studio, and Gradle.
- Strong proficiency in Kotlin (Java a plus).
- Solid grasp of MVVM / MVI / Clean Architecture.
- Experience with Room or SQLite, Retrofit/OkHttp, Hilt or Koin, and Jetpack Compose.
- Hands-on with crash reporting tools (Sentry / Crashlytics) and profiling tools (Android Studio Profiler, LeakCanary, Perfetto).
- Strong Git and CI/CD fundamentals.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
Good To Have
- React Native experience, including writing native modules in Kotlin and debugging across the JS bridge.
- Modularization, A/B testing (Remote Config / LaunchDarkly), and exposure to NDK.
