Description
We are looking for an experienced and skilled A-Class Machinist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in operating and maintaining a variety of precision machines, including CNC machines, lathes, and mills. As an A-Class Machinist, you will be responsible for producing high-precision parts and components according to specifications, ensuring quality, efficiency, and safety standards are met at all times.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Machining Operations: Operate CNC machines, lathes, mills, grinders, nd other precision equipment to fabricate metal components according to blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret complex technical drawings, schematics, and work orders to determine machining requirements and make necessary adjustments to equipment.
- Tool Setup & Calibration: Set up and calibrate machines, tools, and workpieces for each job, ensuring the correct tools are used and machines are properly aligned.
- Quality Control: Inspect parts during and after machining to ensure they meet required tolerances and specifications. Use measuring tools like calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify part quality.
- Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform routine maintenance on machines and tools to ensure optimal performance. Troubleshoot any issues with machinery, adjusting settings or replacing parts as needed.
- Process Optimization: Continuously monitor and adjust machine settings to improve efficiency and product quality. Identify and implement process improvements to reduce waste and enhance productivity.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all safety guidelines and protocols while operating machinery. Ensure the work environment is clean and organized to maintain safety standards.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production runs, machine settings, and materials used. Report production data and any issues to supervisors or managers.
- Collaboration: Work closely with team members, engineers, and supervisors to meet production goals and resolve any technical challenges.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Vocational training or certification in machining, CNC operation, or a related field is a plus.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working as a machinist in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong experience operating CNC and manual machines, including lathes, mills, and grinders, etc.
- Skills:
- Proficient in reading and interpreting complex blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics.
- Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, and material properties.
- Experience with precision measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers, height gauges, etc.)
- Knowledge of machine programming (G-code and M-code for CNC machines- Gibbs Cam 3D programming is a plus)
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and efficiency.
- Ability to work with no supervision and to lead and train others.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand, bend, and work in physically demanding positions for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in a machine shop environment with exposure to noise, dust, and temperature variations.
- Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hearing protection, and gloves, etc.
