Job Profile – Manager, Treasury
Role Purpose
To manage the company's treasury operations with a primary focus on optimizing returns on surplus funds while ensuring liquidity, capital protection, and compliance with the organization's investment policy. The role involves identifying and executing investments across Mutual Funds, Bonds, Commercial Papers (CPs), Certificates of Deposit (CDs), Treasury Bills, and other approved financial instruments.
Key Responsibilities
Investment Management
- Develop and execute investment strategies for deployment of surplus funds.
- Evaluate investment opportunities across Mutual Funds, Debt Funds, Bonds, Commercial Papers (CPs), Certificates of Deposit (CDs), Treasury Bills (T-Bills), Government Securities, and other approved instruments.
- Monitor market trends, interest rate movements, and macroeconomic developments to maximize risk-adjusted returns.
- Maintain an optimal balance between liquidity, safety, and yield.
- Negotiate investment rates and terms to achieve optimum returns.
- Ensure investments comply with the company's treasury and investment policies.
- Coordinate fund transfers, investment settlements, and redemptions.
- Maintain relationships with mutual fund houses, brokers, and financial institutions.
Portfolio Monitoring
- Track portfolio performance against benchmarks.
- Review maturity profiles and recommend reinvestment strategies.
- Prepare periodic MIS and investment performance reports for senior management.
- Monitor credit quality and risk exposure of investment instruments.
Financial Analysis & Risk Management
- Conduct credit and risk analysis before making investment decisions.
- Assess counterparty risks and monitor market developments.
- Recommend portfolio diversification strategies to minimize risk.
- Ensure adequate liquidity to meet operational and strategic requirements.
Compliance & Governance
- Maintain proper documentation and audit trails for all treasury transactions.
- Support internal and statutory audits related to treasury activities.
- Coordinate with Finance, Accounts, Taxation, and Secretarial teams for treasury-related matters.
Qualifications
- CA / CMA / MBA (Finance) / CFA (preferred).
- NISM certifications or treasury-related certifications will be an added advantage.
Experience
- 5-8 years of experience in Treasury, Corporate Finance, or Investment Management.
- Hands-on experience in investing corporate surplus funds in Mutual Funds, Bonds, Commercial Papers (CPs), Certificates of Deposit (CDs), Treasury Bills, and other money market instruments.
- Experience in a corporate treasury, NBFC, financial institution, or large manufacturing organization is preferred.
